The University of Genova will host onto an own server the full-text and retrieval software of Patrologia Latina Database and Acta Sanctorum Database, primary sources for the study of Christianity and Medieval Europe.
With this agreement which implements the Periodicals Contents Index (PCI Web) mirror site agreement in 1997, University of Genova has become a gateway for accessing three indispensable resources in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
The co-operation between one of the most important Italian teaching and research Institutions and one of the leading Italian distributors of electronic information, marks an important step in the Italian information market.

The Patrologia Latina Database is an electronic version
of the first edition of Jacques-Paul Migne's Patrologia Latina,
published between 1844 and 1855, and the four volumes of indexes published
between 1862 and 1865. The Patrologia Latina comprises the works
of the Church Fathers from Tertullian in 200 AD to the death of Pope Innocent
III in 1216.
The Patrologia Latina Database contains the complete
Patrologia Latina, including all prefatory material, original texts,
critical apparatus and indexes. Migne's column numbers, essential references
for scholars, are also included.
The Acta Sanctorum Database is an electronic version of
the complete texts of the sixty-eight printed volumes, from the two January volumes published in 1643 to the Propylaeum to December published
in 1940. The Acta Sanctorum comprises the works published over a period of three hundred years by the Société des Bollandistes.
The Acta Sanctorum Database contains the
complete Acta Sanctorum, including all prefatory material, original
texts, critical apparatus and indexes. Biblioteca Hagiographica Latina
reference numbers, essential references for scholars, are also included.
This release of the Acta Sanctorum Database contains
the volumes for the ecclesiastical months of January, February and March.
PCI Web is an electronic index to the contents of thousands
of periodicals in the humanities and social sciences, from their first
issues to 1990/1991. Every article is indexed. PCI Web currently
indexes over 10.75 million articles in 3,142 journals. Every year, it adds
records for more than one million new articles. It will grow to encompass
over 5,000 journals and 20 million individual articles. PCI Web is
available to libraries and academic institutions on an annual subscription.
