Within the framework of its sales development in Europe, INIST-CNRS, one of the major European centres for technical and scientific information, has reached an agreement with E.S. Burioni Ricerche Bibliografiche, that will acts as its sole agent in Italy for the Document Delivery services.
INIST, producer of the well known databases PASCAL, FRANCIS and BHA-Bibliography of the History of Art (in co-operation with J. Paul Getty Trust), operates one of the majoir Document Delivery services in Europe, with a collection of over 26.000 international periodicals and 250.000 monographs, complemented by a network of about 150 partner libraries. Every year 500.000 new documents are added to the INIST collections.
In particular, the free service "Article@INIST" makes available an online catalogue of over 7 million articles, with electronici ordering, tracking and administration facilities; the ordered documents could then be received electronically, at competitive, transparent all-inclusive prices. More than 10.000 customers worldwide use "Article@INIST daily.
The new agreement and the INIST Document Delivery services have been launched at the annual Convention of the Italian Library Association (Bibliocom 2001; Roma, 3-5 October 2001).
