During the 46th Congress of the Italian Libraries Association (Turin, 11-13 May 2000) E.S.Burioni Ricerche Bibliografiche has announced an important agreement with University of Padova for operating ensemble®, an Internet based service for the distribution of information, built on SilverPlatter Information Electronic Reference Library (ERL) technology. The service will be available to Universities, Research Institutions, Corporate Industries and Professionals.
ensemble(http://ensemble.unipd.it) provides Internet access to SilverPlatter Information databases installed on an ERL server maintained by Centro di Ateneo per le Biblioteche (CAB) at University of Padova. University of Padova is the service provider and contributes with its technological infrastructure while E. S. Burioni Ricerche Bibliografiche is in charge of the organisational and commercial management of the service.
The co-operation between one of the most important Italian teaching and research Institutions and one of the leading Italian distributors of electronic information, marks an important step in the Italian information market.

ensemble functionality is not limited to the searching of bibliographic databases. Through the SilverLinker options it also enables seamless navigation from bibliographic records to full-text articles in electronic format available at publishers’ sites, as well as the integration with library holdings, dynamic link to OPACS’ and links to document delivery suppliers.
