Further to this agreement, starting from 1 February DEA SpA will acquire the distribution of all electronic publishing lines previously distributed by E.S. BURIONI.
With this reorganization, the two companies plan to address the information market changes, which in an increasingly competitive environment require appropriate size, widespread organization and investments capacity.
At the same time, DEA SpA reached an agreement with CENFOR INTERNATIONAL in order to acquire the distribution of CSA products lines, formerly managed by CENFOR.
DEA SpA therefore will become the unique distributor of all ProQuest product lines (ProQuest, Chadwyck, CSA) and all Ovid Technologies (Wolters Kluwer Health) products.
CENFOR INTERNATIONAL will continue, as an independent company and under the management of Anna Merlo, the distribution of electronic resources other than CSA/ProQuest, the activities of software sales, consultancy and training, development of innovative projects for libraries and documentation centres.
E.S. BURIONI RICERCHE BIBLIOGRAFICHE will continue its business of books supplier, bringing to completion the already announced re-organization project of this service. Luca Burioni, furthermore, will continue the consultancy and negotiation activity in which he has been engaged for some years.
With this reorganization DEA SpA confirms and strengthens its leading role in distribution and sale of publishing products.
The three companies believes that this agreement will enable DEA SpA to play an even more pivotal role in the Information Technology field, preserving and carrying on the significant professional skills and experiences achieved over the years by the Italian companies in this specific market.
The Libraries and Documentation Centres will be able to count on an even more widespread and ongoing presence, both from the point of view of contacts with salespeople and post sales services; moreover they will find a valid partner of "European" size in order to meet the future challenges.
All new orders and renewals received after 31st January will be dealt with directly by DEA SpA.
E.S. BURIONI and CENFOR are further committed for a proper period of time in order to facilitate the continuity of commercial relationships and services.
Ovid and ProQuest, through their relevant sales organizations in Italy are equally committed for the same purpose.
